Bill Rhea offers 31 years of experience as an electrical engineer, including 16 years of specialization in the design and development of embedded systems hardware and software, utilizing fail-safe and safety-critical design principles.
Bill’s experience includes circuit design and software and algorithm development. He is experienced with Assembly, C, C++, Basic, Matlab, and LabView programming and is knowledgeable and experienced with CMMI practices.

Bill’s previous employment included 17 years with Ansaldo STS (formerly Union Switch & Signal) serving as a Project Systems and Design Engineer. He was involved in projects involving automatic train control (ATC) and positive train control (PTC) system designs, and supervised numerous multidiscipline engineering teams.

Bill is competent in signal block and control line design and is an industry leader in the areas of ATC, PTC, braking analysis, cab signaling, and cab Signal Interference.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Penn State University, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. When not working, Bill can frequently be found on Pennsylvania trout streams and golf courses.
