Vehicle Maintenance Support

Our deep bench of rail vehicle engineers and specialists are ready to troubleshoot, analyze and prepare repair plans, procedures, guidelines and modifications to improve commuter rail, light rail, heavy rail, subway, locomotive, coach, cab car, and streetcar fleet reliability. LTK has recently supported numerous maintenance departments with:

  • Vehicle stray current, arc strike, ground brush performance, component and vehicle grounding, motor cable failure, and system wire failure investigation and mitigation
  • Wheel wear and condition assessment, and life extension programs
  • System and component failure analysis for propulsion controls, inverters, reactors, traction motors, doors, journal bearings, brake systems, networks, brake loops, gearboxes, relays, roof resistors, and all other vehicle elements
